Part 1

Protecting your privacy is very important to us at Fort Madison Bank & Trust Co.. We value the trust you have placed in us as your financial institution. Preserving that trust and continued confidence is our priority.

How we gather information

We may gather personal information from you from the following sources:

•  Information you have provided us on application or forms such as required for new accounts and loans.

•  Information we have received from an outside company such as credit bureau sources and/or employment history.

How we use this information

We may use the information gathered from you for the following reasons:

•  We use the information collected to protect your account.

•  We use the information you have provided to us to understand your financial needs.

•  We use the information collected to improve our products and services.

•  We use the information to enhance customer service.

•  We use the information to comply with federal and state regulations.

Who we share this information with

We may share some or all of information as described above with third parties. These third parties are described below:

•  Non- financial institutions such as check printers or companies that assist us with marketing our products to you.

•  Other financial institutions that act in joint programs with us.

•  Other companies as permitted by law such as credit bureau and law enforcement agencies.

We insist that third parties adhere to similar privacy policies to keep all personal information confidential.

We are committed to protecting customer information. We have established procedures to maintain the accuracy of the customer information provided to us. We will respond in a timely manner to any customer requests' to changes in that information.

We are committed to protecting the security and integrity of our customer's information. To do this have implemented the following policies:

•  We limit unauthorized employee access to those who need to know to service the customer's account

•  The physical access to customer information is restricted.

•  Our physical and technical safeguards adhere to federal standards for the protection of customer information.

•  We use technological means such as virus protections and back ups to ensure the integrity and security of our customer's information.

•  We insist that any third parties use technological means to protect against unauthorized access to our customer information.

Our customers have the choice as to whether you want your information shared with certain non-financial affiliates. To opt out of this sharing please call our customer service department at 372-5164. Once you have had opted out you will not have to do so again.

Joint account holders should both opt out.

Fort Madison Bank & Trust Co. encourages you, our customer, to take additional security measures.

•  Store all personal information a safe place.

•  Order copies of your credit report from a reputable credit bureau.

•  Keep track of billing cycles of your credit cards. Investigate any late arriving statements.

•  Protect your mail from theft.

•  Guard your PIN's and passwords from theft. Do not share them with anyone.

•  Monitor bank & credit cards statements carefully and report any unauthorized charges.

If you are a victim of identity theft or fraud contact the local authorities and the three main credit bureaus. Equifax 1-800-525-6285, Experian 1-88-397-3742, Trans Union 1-800-680-7289.

Part Two

Security Online

We safeguard information according to established security standards and procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential information. We do this through several means

•  Technology is periodically updated to stay current with adavances

•  Information sent to our online banking provider is over 128-bit secure server encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL)

•  The Online-banking provider also uses firewalls, routers, and other intrusion detection to secure your online banking information.

Many websites use a technology called "cookies" to provide you with tailored information from their Website. Fort Madison Bank & Trust Co. does not use "cookie" technology, although our Online Banking vendor server does use a "cookie" to assist in completing a reconnection quicker. We make no attempts to identify individual users unless illegal behavior is suspected.

All users of our Website remain anonymous. Standard software is used to collect and store ONLY non-identifying information such as, the Internet service provider and browser information of the computer in which you are accessing our web site.

User of our web site should not send personal information via email because it is not encrypted and therefore not secure.
